When kidneys lose the ability to perform filtering functions in the human body, there are several effective treatment options. Typically, the first stage in treatment is a combination of diet modifications and medications. When 85 to 90 percent of kidney function is lost, you are considered to be at end stage kidney failure, which requires dialysis treatment to be administered.

Similar to the function of your kidneys, dialysis treatment keeps your body in balance, filters unneeded fluid and chemicals and removes waste from the blood. At Mount Baker Kidney Center we offer two types of dialysis treatments, hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.
